saving e-mail files
I am completely at a loss for trying to save my e-mails. I tried exporting as
a .pst file but then I couldn't open the file on the drive I saved it to (even though the computer has Outlook 2003). Is there a way to save files, other than archiving them in Outlook so I can clean it up? I'm looking to store them on a thumb drive or CD for example. Thanks. |

Outlook needs to have read/write access to a .PST file in order to work with
it. Copy your .PST file from the CD back to your hard drive (or other rewritable media), turn off the Read-Only attribute (right-click the file, choose properties), then Outlook should be able to open it. It should work on a thumb drive as long as you have read/write access to it. -- Aloha, -Ben- Ben M. Thanks for responding.
I saved the .pst file to My Documents folder and there is nothing checked under "Attributes" in Properties. It still isn't opening the file. I cut the file from my thumb drive to the documents folder as stated below. Am I missing something? "Ben M. What happens when you try to open the file? Do you get an error message?
