Unable to add certain addresses to address book
I received an email from my POP3 account into Outlook Express and after
sending a reply I decided to save the senders address in my address book. I went to the sent folder and right clicked on the senders address. From the window that opened I selected the option to add the sender to my personal address book. Outlook Express responded with a message that indicated that the contact was already in the address book. I went and examined the address book and found that it was not there. I went to one of the menu's and tried to add the name to my address book and I got the same thing. I copied the EML file to a disk and put it into Outlook Express on another machine. When I tried to add the sender on the other machine I got the same response. I went back to the original machine and tired adding another sender to my address book following the same procedure and it worked just fine. Next I opened the address book and typed in the name and email address manually and it worked just fine. What in that particular email would prevent Outlook Express from automatically adding the sender when I right click and make the request? I am running Windows XP Home that has all of the latest updates from Windows Update. I do not have Microsoft Office or Microsoft Outlook installed on the machine. I am at a loss to explain why some addresses can not be added to the address book and others can be added. If someone knows the answer or has any suggestions, please reply. |

Unable to add certain addresses to address book
Possibly the e-mail address in the FROM header is invalid. You can look
at the Message Source (Ctrl-F3) in the original message or open the EML file in Notepad. Note that if the message also includes a Reply to header, OE used that for the Reply and not the From header. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Vbritt" wrote in message ...
