Problem with Product Keys for 2007
All,
Downloaded Office Suite, Visio, OneNote and Infopath from Technet Plus area last night. Installed on two of my machines. When I tried to activate my copy of Infopath I was told I had exceeded the maximum number of activations allowed. It appears Infopath and OneNote share same product key but doesn't differentiate among products. Anyone else having problems yet? Thanks, Rick |

Yes, getting exactly the same problem and logged a call with MSDN customer
service this morning. Try doing over the phone activation, I managed to convince the lady at the call center to activate me, but clearly there is something wrong with the license keys... - Russell Fishman "Rick Martin" wrote: All, Downloaded Office Suite, Visio, OneNote and Infopath from Technet Plus area last night. That is the standard licensing question option available since gawd knows when - indicates nothing about any current problem.

Problem with Product Keys for 2007
I am having the same issue with the shared Product Key for Visio and Project
(one shared key) and the one for "office desktop applications" (OneNote, InfoPath, Groove). If I use the key for one of these products, I can not activate over the Internet, even on the same computer, for the other product(s) that share that key. I have not even attempted installations or activations on other computers. I hope MS gets this straightened out pronto. "Rick Martin" wrote in message ... activations on other computers. I hope MS gets this straightened out
pronto Probably not much they can do when it comes to the website. Lots of people are trying to use the download servers right now for Office 2007 (just wait till Wednesday when Vista comes out, it'll be worse!). Things will get better over time... This was to be expected. No matter how many servers MS threw at it, they have never been able to hold up perfectly during the first few days of any release of Office 2007 during the beta cycle. I just reproduced this issue here. Phone activation got me around the
problem though. I've escalated it to Microsoft so that they can look into this. Ik have the same problems when activating Project, OneNote and InfoPath (the
others - Visio, Groove activated fine). Tried yesterday and today, no change. "Patrick Schmid [MVP]" wrote: I just reproduced this issue here. Phone activation got me around the problem though. For now the only thing you can do is call Microsoft.
Btw, there is a new key for Visio/Project on MSDN.
