Unable to see contacts in Outlook 2000
We are using Outlook 2000, SP3 (9.0.0.8830). One of our personnel is having
a problem where he is not able to see his contacts under the address book. He can see Contacts as an option to select but when he selects it, no contacts show. Other info: 1. If he goes directly into the Contacts Folder, i.e. clicking on the Contacts Icon in the left view pane under Outlook Shortcuts, all this contacts appear. He can add/delete/edit without any problems. 2. We have checked the properties of his Contacts | Outlook Address Book tab, and the Contacts folder is selected to "show this folder as an e-mail Address book". This is working as the Contacts folder does show up when he attempts to select the recipient but none of his contacts are displayed. 3. We have addressed this issue as a Profile problem. This did not resolve the issue. Any assistance or further troubleshooting tips would be appreciated. |

Also, state your Outlook version more completely. Specify your mail support
mode. Specify where the Outlook Data is stored. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "David Perrin" wrote in message ... We are using Outlook 2000, SP3 (9.0.0.8830). Unable to see contacts in Outlook 2000
Brian Tillman - These are email addresses. They are populated from our
Global Address List (GAL). This is an isolated incident as there are no other personnel having this issue at this time. We have 3000+ users and I have not heard of another similar incident to date. Russ Valentine - We are running Exchange 2003 having recently migrated from Exchange 5.5. I say recently meaning 3-months. The problem occurred late last week so I do not believe this is related to our migration. Please let me know if there is any further information you require that might help us solve this issue. Thank you for your replies gentlemen. Your expertise and advice will be appreciated. Cheers. "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Also, state your Outlook version more completely. Brian and Russ. We have resolved this issue in-house. We had to export the
users Contacts to a CSV file, empty the Contacts folder and import his contacts from the CSV file. Thank you for responding. Cheers. "David Perrin" wrote: Brian Tillman - These are email addresses. I'm not following. You said these Contacts are populated from the GAL? What
would that have to do with a Contacts Folder? -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "David Perrin" wrote in message ... Brian and Russ. We have resolved this issue in-house.
