duplicate contacts
I am using Outlook 2003 and XP
I have transferred my pst file from another pc. In doing so I firstly and mistakenly transferred an out of date pst file, and then the correct one. I thought I had removed the old one by selecting FileFM:Remove and everyting seems ok EXCEPT that I seem to have 2 address lists. If I create a new mx and select names, I'm offerered two sets of contacts from the outlook address book. If I go Tools:address book:toolsptions, I have removed the second occurence of contacts. I now have two pst files, outlook.pst and personal folders(1).pst in the same folder and with the same size and date Any ideas? Thanks John G |

How did you "transfer" this file?
You corrupted your profile. If you cannot R click and close the duplicate folder, you will need to edit the registry or create a new profile from scratch. The latter is easier. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "JG3" wrote in message ... I am using Outlook 2003 and XP I have transferred my pst file from another pc. duplicate contacts
I disagree with the other reply; it depends on several
things. We had a secretary who set up contacts by Company name (not individual name) and I would add names by Individual name -- so we would wind up with duplicates that way. Also when you "transfer" the file in, its really "Importing" the *.pst file in and when you import the file in, you are given a choice of adding duplicates or not. Now how to get delete a *.pst file-- I am not sure. -----Original Message----- I am using Outlook 2003 and XP I have transferred my pst file from another pc.
