Default HELP! ACCESS 97 NOT WORKING IN WINDOWS XP

I get a message that says: "Microsoft Access can't start because there is no license for it on this machine." I have tried to cure the problem by changing the registry "font" as instructed in the Knowledge Base Article 141373, which does not appear to apply to Windows XP, and I have not been successful. Does anyone know how I can by-pass this error message and get Access 97 to work on XP? Please help. I have important databases on Access that I need to use.

Thanks for your help. I have already tried the suggestion you sent me, but it does not appear to work for XP. I have changed the font, and re-installed office. Do you have any other suggestions that might apply to XP?

I've deliberately installed multiple versions of Access out of
sequence in Win 2000 and Win XP at least four or five times now. (As
hard drives fail on various of my systems.)

The instructions on that page with respect to renaming the font file
and reinstalling have worked just fine for me. So all I can suggest
is try it again.
