Visio 2003 Add-on Error message at Startup
I recently upgraded to Visio 2003. I did a full install from the CD.
Whenever I start Visio I receive the following message: 'Visio could not find this add-on or one of its files. An error occurred and this feature is no longer functioning properly. Would you like to repair this feature now?' If I select repair, it appears to do something and all is well after. But, as soon as I shutdown and restart Visio, I get the same message and have to go thru the same thing again. I can't get rid of it. I have run a repair/re-install and done a complete re-installation but with no success. The error message gives me no indication as to what add-on it is having a problem with. Has anyone experienced this before or have any ideas? Regards, Steve |

Visio 2003 Add-on Error message at Startup
Hello Steve,
1. Check first under TOOLS - OPTIONS - ADVANCED - FILE PATHS - ADD-ONS contains a defined path information; if it is so, delete, press OK two time; restart visio and verify the status. 2. If you have Adobe installed into your system, make sure to uninstall & reinstall it without the PDFMaker for Visio (you have to do a custom installation). If it was previously installed in your system, you have to delete the following hidden folders (to view them, enable SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS under TOOLS - OPTION - VIEW of the windows explorer: C:\Documents and Settings\loginname\Application Data\Microsoft\Visio C:\Documents and Settings\loginname\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Visio Then, delete the following registry key: HKEY _CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsft\Office\11.0\Visio. Then, launch visio which will try to repair itself. Please try these options and let me know the results. Regards, Jagadeesh Parameswaran, Microsoft. Visio 2003 Add-on Error message at Startup
I am facing the excat same trouble as Steve. What you are suggesting is to rid the Adobe PDFMaker for Visio - does it mean an incompatibility between the Adobe PDFMaker for Visio and Visio2003?
