Default How do I get publisher 2007 to directly open to a blank page?

Is there a way to get publisher to open directly to a blank page rather than
the annoying "Publisher tasks" panel? There used to be a way to turn that
feature off but I can't locate it in 2007.

In Publisher 2000 it is Tools, Options and uncheck "Use catalog at startup."

Same steps in 2007...but the dialog is a little different....

Uncheck..."Show publication types when starting Publisher"

John,

I removed the check mark immediately after installation yet each time I
start Publisher it opens a task window that I don't want it to open. That's
what I want to prevent from happening. I just want it to open up with no
windows (tabs) at all. I just want a blank page...period.

You can't keep it from appearing. It is a tear-off, you can minimize it to very
small and drag it to a less obtrusive part of your screen. Publisher will
remember this setting the next time you open the application. If it seems not to
want to move, expand the chevron and uncheck *format publication.*

Thanks for the tip!

I guess it's just another one of those annoying "great ideas" MS has come up
with. Each time they develop a new version of software they seem to take
more and more customization away from users. They just don't get it do they?
I want to make my software "my" software not their software with minor
changes to the facade.

I followed your suggestion but too be honest, I would still rather tear the
page off than have to close it everytime I open Publisher (which is exactly
what I do).

Anyway, thanks again for the reply. Take care.
