Questions moving from Pub2000 to Pub2003
Thanks in advance for any input to two issues I'm having - used Publisher
2000 for years & used to how it worked, Publisher 2003 at my new desktop and noticed a couple changes; First, with WordArt items I believe (under WordArt properties maybe) there was a way to keep the original proportions of the text. Is there a way to change that in Publisher 2000? Also, for either WordArt and text boxes, didn't it let you arrow through fonts and see how the text looked? Now, for both, I have to click the dropdown and select the font, then do the same for the next, then the next, etc. as opposed to just arrowing through the font list. Again, any input would be greatly appreciated as I'm trying to jump back in to a job I used to do quite well. Thanks! P2daZ |

You can download the WordArt Add-in compatibility application and use it in
Publisher 2003. Questions moving from Pub2000 to Pub2003
Thanks Mary, but I'm not sure that's what I need- you tell me...
I don't have to convert old docs to the newer version. My issue is that, in 2003, when I create a wordart item it doesn't retain the (for lack of a better term) aspect ratio of the original font (it makes it tall & skinny). There used to be a box checked in the "Format wordart" to Lock the aspect ratio. Now, in 2003 it's unchecked though the width & height scales still say 100%. Even checking it doesn't lock the aspect ratio though. Am I missing something? Thanks again in advance! The new WordArt takes getting use to. I've found it is more guess work than art.
I've a tutorial of sorts on my web page. http://msauer.mvps.org/wordart_in_mi..._publisher.htm The old WordArt is useful if you want to create WordArt the same as before. -- Mary Sauer http://msauer.mvps.org/ "pziddy" wrote in message ... So there's no way to get a wordart item back to its "normal" font proportions?

You'll have to experiment with fonts and font sizes. Right-click the WordArt,
Format WordArt, Size tab, check *Lock aspect ratio* -- Mary Sauer http://msauer.mvps.org/ "pziddy" wrote in message ... So there's no way to get a wordart item back to its "normal" font proportions? That's only AFTER I manually get the proportions right, correct?
