Slow typing in Office 2007 / Vista Premium
Hello, I have a brand new HP Pavillion tower with 3 GB RAM, and a Quad Intel processor, running Vista Premium. I have over 1 TB of hard drives, and none of the 3 drives has more than 20% in use. I'm spam and virus free (as far as my Adaware and AVG tell me). I've not installed many programs as yet - just Office 2007 Small Business which I just purchased. But typing in Word, Outlook Email, and Publisher is slower to display than when I type. It's a very short lag, but long enough to cause me to type slower than I normally do, and hit backspace far more often. I type a LOT for my work, and it's driving me crazy. No other speed issues are present - sending, receiving, opening, closing, etc. all work fine. It's just the very short lag between the time I hit the key and the time the character appears. It's like trying to talk when you hear your own echo - everything just slows down. Typing 500 words this way is HARD WORK. I hate it! I realize the Office and Vista are 'bloatware' to the extreme, but with a Quad processor and 3 gigs of RAM one would think there wouldn't be a delay for something as simply as displaying text. Any ideas on if this can be fixed? Any word if Microsoft will issue a patch for this? Or am I just stuck and should reinstall Office 2003? Any input would be greatly appreciated. First, get the Outlook Performance Update linked below.
Second, the issue is probably related to your graphics card driver or your printer driver. Make sure you have the most up to date version of both!
