Default Custom props export from visio: UNKNOWN_TOKEN_252

I need to export custom properties from shapes to either excel or an ODBC
connection. Pre-existing properties export to excel ok, but custom
properties that I add have 'UNKNOWN_TOKEN_252 in the exported output rather
than the value of the property. Anyone know why? (I'm currently on Visio
2000 SR1 (6.0.2072) if it matters.)

TIA!
