But you would have to explain in far more detail that you

have. It may mean
something to you, but to me it sounds like a person who

hits their head with
hammer because it feels good when you stop.

Why do you need the table with a style based on none?

I have a Word & Excel AddIn (replace NOSERVER with my
server and Test|Test with a formula that my dde server need
to evaluate and return a value for) inserts formulas into
Word & Excel...

Now when the client uses my addin to create updateable
fields and formulas, if they do it in a table with a style
based on none Word stops working.

Thanks.

1. create a new word document
2. create a new table in that document
3. into one of the cells of that table insert a field,
click the formula button and replace the = with "DDE
NOSERVER Data Test|Test" and click OK

you will get a message box:
"The remote data is not accessable. Do you want to start
the application NOSERVER"
choose no, you will then get an error message
"Word cannot obtain data from NOSERVER"

4. create a new style, change nothing but based on from
Normal to none and apply that style to the cell with the
dde formula (hard to see with no value but)
5. right click on cell and choose "Update" or "interact"
with it in other ways

The document now no longer responds to the mouse, no
context menus, no selecting...

anyone know of a solution besides basing all your

styles on
"Normal" instead of ""

Thanks.
