Choose Start - Settings - Printers and Faxes - click on the printer being
used. Once the printer control/dialog opens, you should be able to select
and right-click pending documents to cancel individual documents or to
cancel all pending print jobs.

Just a note to the original poster:

This is a Windows question more than it is a Microsoft Office question. This is because once a print job has
been spooled to the printer's queue, Microsoft Office has no control over the print job.

If the print job is still being sent printer's queue in Microsoft Word, a printer icon in the status bar is
shown.

In most cases, the printer icon may not appear on the status bar long enough for you to click it to cancel
printing. If this is the case, then background printing is enabled (turned on) and the print job has already
been sent to the printer queue. At this point, you will need to cancel the print job from within Microsoft
Windows. The instructions for this are provided in the post by Herb Tyson [MVP].

If background printing is disabled (turned off) or printer icon in the status bar is shown long enough, follow
the instructions he

Open the Printer in the operating system, select the document, and then
