Importing excel file into Outlook XP
Hope someone can help. I am trying to import an excel
file with basic contact details in it as well as some custom fields. I followed the usual process of setting up new fields in the contacts list, but when i go to the 'Map' section in the import process, the new fields do not show. The only fields i can map to are the fields that already exist in the default fields list on the right hand side of the mapping window. Does anybody know how to do this, or know whether this can be done? I'm using XP. Thanks Vikas |

Outlook doesn't support importing to custom fields. You'd have to write
custom code or use a third-party application. See http://www.outlookcode.com/d/customimport.htm. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "Vikas" wrote in message ...
