Default Calculating in a category

Is it in a report footer, and you want to count the number of yes in the
detail section of the report?
Try
=Sum(IIf([at fault] = 'Yes',1,0)

If it's from a table, using the category from the table, you can try

=DCount("*","TableName","[at fault]='Yes' And [Category field name in the
table] = '" & [Category field name in the report] & "'")

I'm trying to figure what to put for the control source if I'm trying to find
out how many "yes" answers there are in a specific category.

Ex- I need to find out how many "at fault" damages we had and the answers
range from no, yes & tbd and I want to know how many "yes" ones there are.
Could someone please tell me what I should put for the control source?? Thanks

I actually want to put it in the group footer. When I put the formula you
suggested in the control source =Sum(IIf([at fault]='Yes',1,0) nothing
happened. The formula didn't even appear on the report in the design form it
just still showed unbound. Any other suggestions? Thanks
