Does Excel 2000's Edit Links window show 'break link' and 'check status' buttons?
An Excel 2000 user complains that "all of a sudden" she's unable to
manage links in her spreadsheet. She claims that the 'Break Links' button, the 'Check Status' button and the 'Status' column used to be in the link edit window but they've "disappeared". I checked the spreadsheet in Excel 2003 and these features exist. When I opened the sheet in Excel 2000 on another colleagues computer the features are'nt there. Now, I never use Excel so I'm wondering if she's mistaken and these features never existed in Excel 2000. Another question that crossed my mind: By opening the sheet in Excel 2003, have we somehow broken its Excel 2000 compatibility? Does Excel 2003 handle links in a way that isn't backwards compatible with Excel 2000? Can these two versions ever get along together? Can someone enlighten me? |
