Default adding text that appears after the entered data

How do I insert text in a field - but just have the user enter the number?
example..
I want the field to be 5 years, but I only the the user to enter the number 5.
I've seen this done in Excel - but can not figure out how to do it.

thanks for any help you can send my way!
