Can No Longer Use Specs in Import/Export Text Wizard
Hi Everyone,
Lately I'm no longer able to use the "Specs..." function to define the formats for my import/export files. Access (2002) now gives me a message : 'The MicrosoftJet Database Engine Canot Open the file c:\Documents and Settings\htran\Application Data\Microsoft\Access\ ACWZUSRT.MDT'. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data. What causes this problem ? What is 'ACWZUSRT.MDT' file ? For many years I was always able to use 'SPECS...' to predefine the formats for many of my import/export files. Now suddently I'm encounterred this problem ! Any one has an idea how to resolve this ? your assistance is greatly appreciated. Kevin Tran |

Thanks John, I followed your instruction and found tons of related emails at microsoft.public.access.setupconfig. After having better understanding of the issue, I renamed my ACWZUSRT.MDT file to ACWZUSRTold (it's probably corrupted) then copied my coworker's ACWZUSRT.MDT into my PC. That's it ! everything seems to work fine now. Thanks so much for your guidance. I'm glad it worked. I've never had this problem myself and wasn't sure
from what I read in m.p.a.setupconfig just how to fix it.
