Problem sharing address book.
I have set up OE6 so that a common mail folder and address book can be
shared by multiple OSes(W2K, WXP, W2K3, etc.). Sharing a mail folder is no problem, but for some reason sharing an address book is so far problematic. From time to time when the address book is accessed from one of those OSes it is empty. Then I manage to fix it but fixing process is not always straight forward and I had to do many trials and errors. Path to the wab file in the registry which to be shared always stays unchanged. What could be wrong with my setup? How a folder list which is displayed by executing wab /a should relate to the address book sharing set up? This list appears to be altered when a problem happens. Please help. Kaz |

Try using standalone WAB files, rather than trying to share. See this link

Thanks for your response. I have reviewed your referenced web info. It
appears that I am doing what it suggest to share an address book. I placed a wab file in a data drive and edited registry on each OS to point this wab file location. I reviewed the referenced web site again and I think I understood what using
wab file as stand-alone address book means. But it does not seems as covenient as using address book from OE6. Thanks anyway. Kaz "PA Bear" wrote in message ...
