0x800CC0E error with Outlook 2003 and Windows 7
Hi ... I have followed every instruction I can find to configure outlook (via
MS and Gmail sites and other online forums), but continually receive the error "unable to download folder from IMAP email server ... unable to connect to server)". Tests included have been reinstall/recreate accounts and profile in Outlook. I have disabled the firewall and AV, tried wired and wireless connections. Access via Webmail is ok, but not thru Outlook. Help!!! I am pulling my hair out !!! Thanks -- Margaret |

Help!!! I am pulling my hair out !!! Being bald is one thing a woman doesn't need. Have you checked to make sure you can connect to the server using Windows? Open a command prompt windows and try to telnet to the mail server. Can you connect? -- Brian Tillman http://forums.slipstick.com |

Try the following. Instead of disabling your AV from scanning uninstall your AV application and then re-install it without the email integration (scanning ) option. Most AV scanning will not shut off when you use the Disable option . It remains hooked into your API, Therefore you will need to do the following which I posted above. -- Peter Please Reply to Newsgroup for the benefit of others Requests for assistance by email can not and will not be acknowledged.
