Best way of inserting content into new template?
I am working on a project that involves re-branding a large number of long Word documents that are heavily formatted (i.e. custom margins, all text in tables, completely different heading styles, etc).
I have developed a shiny new template in Word 2010 but my problem is trying to determine what is the quickest/least painful method of transferring content from the "old" documents into the new template format? So far I have been saving a new document from the Master Template, then copying/pasting content from the old documents (removing formatting when I paste), then working through page-by-page updating with the new styles. I am hoping (in vain) that there is an easier way?! I have already tried: - "Insert Text from File", but the document looks a complete mess and would still require page-by-page application of new styles. - Attaching new template to the old document, but because of the custom margins and text in tables etc, it doesn't work. Thanks in advance!!! Sadie |
