Default How do I create a school directory in Publisher 2000?

At the moment I have no way to get at them. They're all archived on zip
discs and I loaned that machine to my niece for a week. I have the
discs...she has the drive :-)

Terri, You cannot merge a booklet in Publisher 2002. There are workarounds if
you are willing to do the work. I think Ron (Crash) has worked out one, I don't
quite understand what he is doing.

Mary, Do you know if I can do something similar I can do to achieve multiple
listing on a page like an address book? I understood you set up to make my
own label but wil that come out in booklet form so I can staple down the
middle, once folded over? Or am I asking for too much? Can you email a sample
of what you have done?

Basically this is the way you have to do it in Publisher 2002. Open the Office
Clipboard (edit menu), you can collect 24 items.

Do your merge using any label setup, preview each entry, copy the entry and
paste the text to a pre-created table in another instance of Publisher that you
have setup for a booklet directory. You can collect 24 entries at a time. It
sounds complicated, but it isn't. Publisher 2003 and 07 have a catalogue merge
that can make directories in minutes.

Default How do I create a school directory in Publisher 2000?

Mary, Hi, i followed your directions from 9/28/06 regarding the school
directory and changing the custom page - which is what I am looking to do -
is there anyway to do this in landscape form so I can get names on both side
of the landscaped booklet folded in half. It worked perfect and your hint
that is prints differently then previews was extremely helpful. But I want to
have labels in landscape format with names appearing on both the left and
right side of the page, is there a way to do this? Thanks.

Default How do I create a school directory in Publisher 2000?

Terri,
It is about the same as setting up a portrait page. The problem is Publisher
wants to print across rather than down. In other words the data will be like
this when you print.

a a a
a b b
c c d

when you really want it to look like this in a directory

a e
a e
a f
b
c
d

How many pages will you have? How many names? You may have to do your directory
on single sheets and staple together rather than a folded directory. If you had
2003 Publisher it would be so much easier for you.

Thanks.

Basically this is the way you have to do it in Publisher 2002. Open the
Office
Clipboard (edit menu), you can collect 24 items.

Do your merge using any label setup, preview each entry, copy the entry and
paste the text to a pre-created table in another instance of Publisher that
you
have setup for a booklet directory. You can collect 24 entries at a time. It
sounds complicated, but it isn't. Publisher 2003 and 07 have a catalogue
merge
that can make directories in minutes.

Massaging info in Excel first then simply plopping tables into Pub...manual
procedure...no merging.

| Terri, You cannot merge a booklet in Publisher 2002. There are
workarounds
if
| you are willing to do the work. I think Ron (Crash) has worked out one, I
don't
| quite understand what he is doing.

| I am looking to do the directory in landscape orientation, with one
listing
| after the other like a personal telephone book. Any suggestion to what
label
| to use for this? Is this something that can be done? The final
directory
| will be in a booklet format and stapled in the center. Did you put all
the

| Did you do the labels in Word first and them transfer them into
