Default have can I transfer my contacts list from my old to new computer?

win 2000 on old comp. XP on new.
office 2k on old Office 2003 on new.
I want to export all my contacts into some kind of personal address book so
that i can load it into my new pc...

Any ideas??? It seems that this should be an easy task and one that MS
would have considered during design... Can't figure it out though.. tried
creating a .pst for contacts list but no go. Thanks for your help, I'm out of
ideas.
