Default autonumber error

my "ID" field counts from 1 to 2 in the scend record just fine, but, when I
go to the 3rd record "(autonumber) pops up and the form navigation will not
allow me to create a 4th record.

Very strange. We probably need more information to figure it out. Try doing a
Compact and Repair just to see if it's a corruption problem.

You could zip it up and send it to me at OCVL5200 @ hotmail.com and I'll
take a look at it.

Mediatalker,

Have you actually entered data into the 3rd record? What you are
describing is the default behaviour for Access. As soon as you enter
data into one of the fields, the creation of the record is triggered,
the autonumber value will be assigned to the record (in place of the
"(Autonumber)", and navigation to the 4th record will be enabled.
