Default unable to open my mdb file - please help!

Hi -
I was just working with an mdb file and deleted a couple large tables
that I no longer needed, then in order to reduce the size of my
database, I "Compacted and Repaired" the mdb. Now for some reason,
when I try to open the file, I am getting the following error
message:

"Record(s) cannot be read; no read permission on 'MSysAccessObjects'.

Can anyone please help me overcome this problem and restore my
database? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
