One other work-around is to place a "soft return" (Shift-Enter) at the end of
each paragraph before the carriage (hard-) return. Don't know that this is preferable to the pseudo-soloution already discussed, but I thought I'd mention it... David Marcus "Ed Bennett" wrote: While in a state of ecstasy after repairing his laptop, Ed sees a message from BJSmithCO . On it is written: You can watch the last line of the paragraph move up or down just by changing the "after-paragraph" line spacing. That should not happen! Only the distance BETWEEN paragraphs should change. You are right, that is most odd (and it repros over here now) Let me do some following up on this... -- Ed Bennett - MVP Microsoft Publisher http://www.mvps.org/the_nerd/ Before reading this message, view the disclaimer: http://mvps.org/the_nerd/disclaim.htm |

Line Spacing - Last line in Paragraph
We found the problem when we used Gill Sans font. As soon as we changed to a
different font (Arial, Verdana, Garamond, etc.), the problem disappeared without having to do anything special, and still retaining the after paragraph spacing we wanted. Seems to be a problem associated with font type. "stew" wrote: I have seen this happen over and over and over again. I don't do much in Publisher but when I am mind boggled that something as little as this hasn't been fixed by Microsoft!!!! I tjust isn't on screen it's on the print out too!!! It's the little things like this that drive people NUTS!!! This "feature" was identified to MS back in 2004 or earlier and it's STILL HERE!! stew "Mickey" wrote: I've seen this phenomenon on my screen, but when I print the document, it's okay. I think it's just a screen anomaly. If your documents print correctly, last line and all, ignore it. If the line is continued with another sentence, that line shifts upwards and the next line is then spaced improperly. How do I control this behavior, or is it a bug I just have to live with? -- BJSmithCO Englewood, Colorado |

Line Spacing - Last line in Paragraph
Suggestion from Mary Sauer seems to have fixed it for me:
Have you tried the baseline guides? You can turn them on in View menu. In the Format menu, Paragraph, Indents and Spacing tab, check *Align text to baseline guides*. |
