I need to rank a column containing concatonated names and addresses. Ranking
only handles numeric values, is there any way to give text a numeric value? |

Hi,
It would have helped to see some test data but let's start from here. With your data in column A starting in A2 enter this in b2 and drag down =COUNTIF($A$2:$A$100,""&A2)+1 -- Mike When competing hypotheses are otherwise equal, adopt the hypothesis that introduces the fewest assumptions while still sufficiently answering the question.
