Column and Row Color
For example, when you click on cell "B3", the column
heading "B" and row heading "3" change color. Does Excel 2003 offer any way to change that color in its existing menus? Excel 2002 had a nice grey highlight, whereas Excel 2003 has a bright orange that I do not like. |

Column and Row Color

That color would depend upon your Windows Display Scheme Settings. Right-click on your Desktop and PropertiesThemes. Play with settings here. Column and Row Color
MR Dibben: I am a neophyte with Excel and have a simple question about color.
I have a chart with 5 columns and 50 rows of entries which I add to daily. In column A I have a some std entries such as MB or SR , etc etc. After I finish updating, I sort on column A so that all MB entries are grouped, all SR entries are grouped, etc. My question. I would like to color code a row so that when the code like MB is typed in column A, it colors the entire row with a pre-arranged color. Is there a way to do that or must I manually set the color for each cell - whihc is very cumbersome. Column and Row Color
I don't mean to dispute you, but I looked in the "Display
Properties"/Appearance/Advanced section and found no color there that matched the color that Excel uses to highlight the row and column heading names. Are there any settings in Excel that might affect this? thnx TED "Gord Dibben" gorddibbATshawDOTca wrote in message ... Spyros That color would depend upon your Windows Display Scheme Settings. Column and Row Color

Re-read my original post. The colors are set by a "Theme" under PropertiesThemes, not PropertiesAppearance. Any change made here will affect all applications. There are no settings within Excel to alter.
