Open Files in a new workbook
When you open a file, you are opening a workbook, there is no way to open a file
and have it open a new workbook -- if you want to do that -- jsut open a new file.... "TIM HAGEDORN" wrote in message ... : I want to have excel set up so when I open a file, it is : opened in a new workbook, not the one I currently have : open. Is there a way to set this up? : : Thank you : Tim |

Open Files in a new workbook
If I have a file open, and I open another file, it opens
in the same excel window. I want to be able to use "alt tab" to switch between workbooks. If both files are in the same excel window, this toggle doesn't work. If I open another excel window and open the second file in that window, I can toggle. I want to know if there is a way that when I open a second or third file, that they open in another window? Thank you. -----Original Message----- When you open a file, you are opening a workbook, there is no way to open a file and have it open a new workbook -- if you want to do that -- jsut open a new file.... Use Ctrl tab to switch between the files. You really dont need to have
additional applications running. It slows your system down, you can not use personalized macros wrote in message ... : If I have a file open, and I open another file, it opens : in the same excel window. Open Files in a new workbook
With Excel 2000 and newer, you can have Windows in Taskbar.
ToolsOptionsView OR use CRTL + TAB as suggested by Lady Layla.
