Exclamation Pictures in Tables get resized

it is the strangest thing, i insert a picture from file into the table in word 2002 and it gets sized bigger no matter what size i start with it gets sized bigger and the problem is when you make a small picture bigger it is less clear. Any ideas why it gets sized bigger on me??? thanks for the help, M.
