Default Printing problems

We are running Windows XP Professional on our network with
2 Windows 2003 servers, we also have some Windows 98 SE
computers all computers have Publisher 2002, however on
the Windows XP computers when you try to print a document
it does not print sometimes it just sends the document and
nothing happens sometimes it sends the document and then
says that it can't find or connect to the printer. We
have no problems printing to the printers from other
office applications or software any ideas anyone?

This will be an issue with your printer driver. Go to the website of your
printer manufacturer and download and install the latest version of the
printer driver for your model printer.

There are no known printing issues in any versions of Publisher, only
printer drivers and/or incorrect configuration of your network.

This is not a Publisher issue.

The printers would be attached to a cable - normally two (2) cables!!!

One cable for power/electricity and another cable to a centronics/parallel/USB/serial port.

Where does MS find fools like you?

UNBELIEVABLE

A small child turns to Ed, and exclaims: "Look! Look! A post from

It could be said, though, that the printers are attached to a printer
server, network, or desktop computer using a cable.

I'm confused about the "two cables" part. Unless he's counting the power
cord?

Ah - I don't call that a cable, that's a cord. Silly me. ;-)

Incorrect. If all other applications print correctly, and the Original
Poster says this is indeed true, it is a Publisher issue, not a printer one.

You stick with the Publisher issues and I'll deal with the printer ones, OK?

And there are now plenty of wireless printers, or are you unaware of this?
