Default Linking formulas

I hope I'm posting this to the correct newsgroup...

I have a worksheet with columns of private and public information wherein I
add and delete rows occasionally -
I want a second worksheet with only the "public" columns visible for shared
access amongst our employees

I have tried to create a dynamic link to the original worksheet that will
update when I add new rows of information

'problems' I'm having
1) in cells with no current information I have zeros (how do I keep them
blank?
2) my changes to the original worksheet are not updating when I open the
second worksheet
3) my cell formatting (cells that are merged / have background colour or
borders) doesn't carry over when I link the group of cells (i.e. A3:G25)

Thank you in advance!
Michelle

Hi Michele
see below

'problems' I'm having
1) in cells with no current information I have zeros (how do I keep

them
blank?

Try something like
=IF('sheet1'!A1"",'sheet'!A1,"")

2) my changes to the original worksheet are not updating when I open

the
second worksheet

not sure what you mean. Note: this link is a 'one-way' link

3) my cell formatting (cells that are merged / have background colour

or
borders) doesn't carry over when I link the group of cells (i.e.

A3:G25)
Formats can't be copied with formulas. So this is the expected result
Additional note: You should stay away from merged cells :-)
They will cause trouble!
