Office 2003 will not install due to service pack not completed on.
i am running xp home edition pre installed
due to major problems i had to restore my computer back to factory settings. last night i tried to install office pro 2003 from my disc and i got an error saying that the installation can not take place because a service pack is not fully completed and go to microsoftupdate..... to update my computer. i dont even have a service pack on my computer due to the fact that it was restored. i was wondering if i installed service pack 1a would that then allow me to install office 2003. i know there is a service pack 2 but to cut a long story short im wondering about service pack 1a thanking you heaps in advance |

Sorry. This is a newsgroup dedicated to questions about Access, the database program in Office Professional. It appears your question may not be related to these subjects. The Microsoft help system is not all that clear and may have misdirected you here. It is best to ask your questions in a newsgroup dedicated to the subject of your question. You should find people better able to address your problem there. Note: It is always best to indicate the name and version of any program(s) you may be using when asking a question and also indicate the operating system (like Windows XP or 98) when you ask a question. -- Joseph Meehan 26 + 6 = 1 It's Irish Math |

microsoftupdate
huh? were you directed to Windowsupdate or Officeupdate? In any case, is there a reason you don't want to follow Microsoft's recommendation? i was wondering if i installed service pack 1a would that then allow me to install office 2003. Entirely possible. What happened when you tried it? -- George Nicholson Remove 'Junk' from return address.
