Default diary tracking

I'm looking for a way to track diary entries. E.G. I have several different
notes relating to different tasks each day and I want to be able to filter
for each task so I can see/print dates and notes relating to each task. Can
this be done with Outlook or is there some other software available.

It sounds like you need OneNote:
