filtering data in a combo box based on a selection in another comb
I am trying to create a database to catalog my software collection. What I
would like to do is select a catagory from a combo box and have the combo box next to it populated with the sub categories related to the parent category. ie. the user would select the category "business and finance" and the combo box next to it would display the relevant sub-categories (financial, calculators, etc.) and then when you selected one of those sub-categories it would populate a third combo box with a final level of categories. Suggestions? Thanks in advance... SteveMc |

Hi,
Use the value in your first combo as criteria in the query that populates your second combo. So you'd have something like this as criteria in the query: Forms!yourForm!yourFirstCombo Then, in the AfterUpdate event of the first combo (it's always better when you supply the names of your controls!) requery the second: Me.yourSecondCombo.Requery -- HTH Dan Artuso, Access MVP "SteveMc" wrote in message ...
