Export OL 2007 Distribution List-Members Page only displays file
Hello:
How can I get a Distribution List to display the individual contacts on the Members page when I double-click to view it? Other lists are working normally, but not this one. I'm trying to do this so I can save this Distribution List to a .txt file, then import the names/e-mail addresses into Excel 2007. 1. In Contacts, I double-click on the DL to open the Distribution List window. 2. The Members page appears, but instead of the individual names and e-mails addrs, there is an DG icon for the file. 3. Clicking the icon opens the properties window for the DL displaying the General, Member Of and E-mail addresses tabs. 4. All the names and emails I am looking for back in Step 2, appear as expected in the General Tab-Members panel, so it's clear that the file contains the data I want. Thanks for all the help on this board! |

File: Save as .txt results in a text file that just shows the name of the DL and under Members: the name of the DL again. |

Thanks, Diane.

How did you create the DL? Does it work to send email? Is there a DL inside
the DL? -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: Let's Really Fix Outlook 2010 http://forums.slipstick.com/forumdisplay.php?f=34 "davidemile" wrote in message ... Hello:
I asked the person that created the DL to export and send a .txt file. That worked, it has 470 email addresses. I guess this is a permissions/rights security issue, so I'll drop it. Thanks again, Diane: "Diane Poremsky [MVP]" wrote: How did you create the DL? Does it work to send email? I haved kind of the same issue, my DL works to send messages, but when I
search for it, to delete or save new entries, I cannot find it, what can I do, thanks. "Diane Poremsky [MVP]" wrote: How did you create the DL? Does it work to send email? No need to multipost. If you are searching in the address book view, cease
and desist. Search your Contacts Folders for this DL instead. -- Russ Valentine "Patty" wrote in message ...
