Inaccessable 'Personal Folders' folder
Outlook 2003 SP2, Windows XP
When I click on the 'Personal Folders' folder in Outlook I receive the error: 'The set of folders could not be opened'. I have tried using SCANPST on the Outlook.pst file but it reported no errors. (And I copied the Outlook.pst onto an other machine of the same spec and it had no problem opening that file). I know that 'personal folders' is the default name Outlook gives to a pst file description, so I suspect it's looking for a different .pst that I no longer have in the directory perhaps? Right clicking on the folder shows the "Properties for Personal Folders' option greyed out. How can I determine exactly what file it is trying to access? Or failing that can I thoroughly un-install Outlook and re-install to fix? (I tried this via Control Panel, Remove Programs but there must be some system files that it does not delete as it 'remembered all my info when I re-installed) thanks |

You have a corrupt profile with an invalid reference to a PST file. Create a
new profile. I trust you know which PST file you want to use. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "peterstv" wrote in message ...
