Default Missing Create PDF Monitor for Word 97--where can I download it?

I installed Word 97 from CD on my new Dell Inspiron 1200 when I replced my
old Dell desktop. Word 97 works fine except each time I run it, it says to
reinstall Create PDF Monitor. I can't get to a singlr file on the CD and
hope that this file resides either on Microsoft's site. I contacted Adobe,
but they were no help whatsoever.

It's not on the Word/Office 97 CD... it's on the Adobe Acrobat
CD. You might get this error message if you installed Acrobat
before you installed Word/Office. If that's the case, then
uninstalling and reinstalling Acrobat might fix the problem.

I no longer have acrobat cd--might never had had one, I'm not sure. Is there
someplace on Adobe's site where I can download it. I looked before, but had
no luck, and their tech support was no help. Thx.

No, I don't think you can download it from the Adobe website.
Are you saying you did not install Adobe Acrobat on your
computer? If you did not, then start Windows Explorer and search
your hard drive for files named PDF*.DOT (include hidden and
system files and folders in the search options). If you find one
or more such files in your Word or Office Startup folder, delete
it or move it out of the Startup folder. Then start Word and see
if the error message persists.

I believe the Create Adobe PDF Monitor was part of a free PDF writer
included in very early versions of Acrobat Reader (now Adobe Reader).
