saving file from visio 2003 so visio 2000 can read?

I have a drawing I am truing to send to another company to edit. I have visio
2003, and they have visio 2000. How can I save my .VSD so they can edit?

I have tried saving in to 2002 format, and have read in many places that the
file format is the same as 2000, but they still can't open the file.

The first question would be, if you have saved them as v2002 can you open them?
The second issue is that where the base file format between v2002 and v2000
is the same, the applications within the products may be different (examples
might include orgchart, timeline, etc.).

Yes, I can open to v2002 file myself.

the drawings are block diagrams. They contain text, basic shapes, connected
lines, some objects pasted in like bitmaps. There are also some cases where
these are mechanical and electrical symbols. I look at the drawings they
produce with v2000 and I don't really see that I did anything more
sophisticated in V2003. I guess I don't understand what you mean when you say
"application within the product". I started out with a blank page, set up a
background so my output drawing would have a common border that would scale
with the page size, and then drug shapes into the drawing an conencted them.

Then it should work. Did you paste the bitmaps in, or just link them? (goes
to them being able to link to a drawing that isn't there.)
