Macro on all pages

I have a bookmark and macro set to GoTo the Table of Contents in a manual.
What is the best way to have the macro available on each page? Hyperlink?
Can you put a hyperlink or macro in a footer? Do you have to copy it to each
and every page?

The best way would be a macro attached to a custom toolbar button. At least
that would be the best way, for me. Tools Customize.

If all users are using a recent version of Word, you can add the Go to TOC
button to a toolbar; this toolbar customization can be stored in the
document.

You can store custom toolbars in a document (at least since Word 97).

It is possible in versions since Word 97. Tools Customize.

Make sure that the location for storing your custom toolbar is your document
rather than normal.dot or your template. If your customization involves a
macro, you want that macro stored in the document first. Unless you
deliberately put a macro in a document, it will not be there. Also be aware
that in many environments macros are blocked by macro security. You could,
instead, set it for the built in GoToTableOfContents command (as suggested
by Suzanne).

The advantage to the built-in command (if you have it in your version) is
that no macro is required (just a single click to drag the command to a
toolbar), and the button already has an assigned icon.

Note, however, that the button does NOT work if your TOC includes entries
generated by TC fields. I would imagine it would also be less useful
(possibly even nonfunctional) if there is more than one TOC in the document.
