Default Display contact names

I want to remove the (Email) part of the display that
appears beside a contact name when I send them email. I
thought it was done via Email Alias under the Details Tab
but this does not work (whatever I put in there is not
saved). I am using Outlook 2000. Can anyone tell me how
this is done?

Use the 'Display As' under the General tab in Contacts

Outlook 2000 does not have that.
Instead, modify the resources of the contab32.dll file. See:

I don't have "Display As", do have "File As" but tried
that (just entered persons name) and it still puts (Email)
in the To bar.

Thanks anyway.

You'll need to use the solution I posted.
