Default Contacts not apearing in Outlook 2003

I'm moving files (from a desktop (Windows XP Pro) to a new laptop with
Windows 7. Outlook 2003 is installed on both.

After copying and pasting the Outlook .pst file (from desktop to laptop via
a USB memory stick), all of the mail and mail folders appear with no
problems. When I select new mail message and to:, the contacts do not
appear.

What am I missing here? Is there something else that I need to do?

Thanks...Dan

What you're missing is the fact that pasting a PST into the folder where
Outlook creates PST by defaults does nothing and can ruin your mail profile.
You never overwrite a PST in a mail profile with another of the same name.
Instead, you should have put your PST in some other folder and then used the
Mail applet in Control Panel to remove the PST already in the new Outlook 2003
mail profile and added the moved PST to the profile. Then when you start
Outlook, everything will be exactly as you want it.
