Installing Upgrade of Office 2003 on Vista (from 97 Full Version)
I bought a new computer using Vista Home Premium. I have a FULL version of
MS Office 97, an upgrade version of 2000 and an upgrade version of 2003. In order to install the 2003 version do I have to install the 97 version and then the 2000 version? I saw where someone asked about 2000 to 2003 and there was a response that you only need to insert the disk during the install. Would this be the same in my case: I install the 2003 version and when it indicates that it cannot find the older version to put in the disk - I use the 97 disk and forget about the 2000 all together? |

Thats about it, though I believe you could use the 2000 version as your
qualifying version. You dont install the earlier version, just have the disk available. Ensure you uninstall any trial version first! "debbit" wrote in message ... Installing Upgrade of Office 2003 on Vista (from 97 Full Versi
Sorry, I need more help. I inadvertely installed the 97 version and now I
get an error message that Vista can't find the shortcut bar. I tried to uninstall Office 97 both through the control panel install/uninstall and by trying to install the 2003 upgrade version. When I try using the control panel I get the an error message that C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office\Setup\Off97Pro.STF can't be found or is corrupt and can't get past this message. If I try to remove the old components as part of the 2003 upgrade install the program hangs. Any suggestions on how to get Office 97 off my Vista computer? Installing Upgrade of Office 2003 on Vista (from 97 Full Versi
If its a new PC, 1st see if there is a restore point for prior to installing
O97, if there isnt, the simplest solution might well be to use your recovery disks or recovery partition to put the PC back to as supplied state. Once done, do not install anything untill Vista has updated critical updates, then read your 'stuff' that was supplied with the PC to asertain what exactly the manufacturer installed, you may well find a trial version of Office also a trial version of an Anti Virus application. You need to know what is on it before you install anything from cd "debbit" wrote in message news Sorry, I need more help.
