Tabs & Indents are different from one presentation to the next

I have several presentations that I use for training purposes & I am trying
to ensure I use all the same formatting in the presentations. In one
presentation I used the Format Painter option to copy the formating of a text
box from one presentation that I completed into another. When looking at the
Tabs & Indents in the Ruler, they appear to be in the same position as the
text box they were formatted from. When I use the Tab key the text does not
move to the Tab that it should be, instead it goes to the default Tab. I try
adding more Tabs & it still only goes to the default Tabs. Why is this
happening in one presentation, but not in others? I did the same steps in
about ten other presentations & had no problems, except this one. I checked
Page Setup & a few other preference & everything matches up.

Try making your changes on the Slide Master.
