Default Outlook 2007 error 0X80040900

Task Mike Fussell@XXXXXXXX Receiving reported error (0X80040900) The server
name you entered cannot be found on the network (it might be down temporarily
Verify that you are online and that the server name is correct.
I have a HP Pavilion desktop running Vista Home Premium 64 bits system, It
has been working for months and all of a sudden stopped.

Tried all that to avail. Still not working. Took computer to the shop, will
cost a arm and a leg proably but I need to get it fixed.

ping that server and see if it responds. (ping example.com)
telnet to that server on port 110 and see if you can get there (telnet
example.com 110)
You may need to install Telnet separately from your Windows DVD.

Sounds like a firewall or antivirus interfering.

By the way, I'd charge less than an arm and a leg. Just an arm will do.
