Default Outlook contacts all messed up

I bought/downloaded Outlook as a separate program and downloaded online in
January. In February suddenly it would show "John Smith" as the person I was
e-mailing to but instead it would go to "Larry Jones". I went and looked in
my contacts and somehow everyone got scrambled so I went through all 2000 or
so of them and made sure the right e-mail was with the right name. However,
I am still having the trouble but can't find any reason for it. I send to
"John Smith" and although it says all through the contact card that it is the
right display name, e-mail, etc. it still sometimes goes to "Larry Jones".
What else can I do? I don't know that it's gone to the wrong person until
it's gone. (And I deal in a very confidential area and can't have e-mails
going to the wrong person.) PLEASE HELP! (I would delete and re-download
but I did it online and don't have a disk.)

You've made this same post a number of times. It contains no information
anyone could use to help. At no point do you define the view to which you
are referring, the settings you specified for the view, and what doesn't
appear the way you imagine it should. You have been asked to clarify the
post and failed.
You can stop now.

If you are typing a person's name instead of selecting it from your
address book, rename the Outlook.NK2 file located in
%userprofile%\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

If this is the result of you clicking the To button and selecting from
that list, your address book might be corrupt. If Exchange is involved,
it further complicates matters.

Microsoft's support for Outlook questions is very inexpensive if this
does not answer your question.
