Default "Pasting" in a distribution list

I have read some posts on how to create and send distribution lists. I
created one and emailed it to my associates so we can share it. The problem
is after its sent.
I opened their email for them copied and pasted the attachment to the
desktop. Then opened contacts and tried to drop it in and got nothing. What
am I doing wrong or is this not the right way to do it? Outlook 2007

You said you read about it, but you don't describe exactly how you did it.
What if you simply drag the attachment from the mail message to the Contacts
folder?

Unless you forward it as a outlook item, the recipient will need to copy the
addresses and paste into a DL form. Steps are listed in the second numbered
list at http://www.slipstick.com/Tutorials/create/dl.asp.

If everyone is using Outlook, you should forward as an outlook item, either
using the send as command or insert it into a new message.
