Default Is MS Access XP Version compatible to Visual Basic 6 ?

Is MS Access XP Version compatible with Visual Basic 6 ? How come that
when I create a query and .mdb file from MS Access XP version then use
it in visual basic. A proble occurs ? It won’t open. So, what I did is
to create again the table using DATA Manager of VB6 using ver 7.0
which is lower version of my MS Access XP.

Can anyone tell me how to resolve this ?

Hi,

What method are you using to connect to the database in VB? DAO or ADO? What
is your connection string in VB and what version of MDAC are you using?

The "how come" is that you haven't applied all the Service Packs to VB6 --
the Jet database engine 3.51 was current when VB6 was released. Jet 3.51 is
the engine that was supplied with Access 97; all later versions of Access
use Jet 4.

Search for article 238401 at the Knowledge Base,
http://support.microsoft.com. It explains what's happening and what to do
about it.

Just as an aside... it is trivially simple to post directly to this
newsgroup. Why did you find it necessary to use a posting service?
