can't connect to exchange server after installation..using msn email

Ok, here is the issue. I am trying to help a friend
install and configure outlook 2003. She is using msn as
her email/internet. When she opens outlook it tries to
configure and then says that it can't connect to the
exchange server. So she goes and works offline, but she
can't even access the Email accounts on the tools menu.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I am having the same problems as you

I have installed Office 2003 on my machine clicked onto outlook to configure it and get the following messages:

The Connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action.


I click OK and the following appears:
Asking me for an exchange server and a mailbox name,

Which l do not have clue what it is supposed to be

Then it tell me it cannot open default folders, click OK then it just closes

So like you l am waiting for someone to tell me why when l install outlook 2003, and open it , it comes up with the above/
