Have a ms access report of name/addr - phone book style
I need to put this member phone book report into a yearbook in pub

can I bring in my ms access report?

if not, what about as a mail merge?
if not, then how - without having to retype all those names, addr, ph,etc

You are better exporting the information from Access to CSV (Comma Separated
Value) and use the CSV file with Publisher.
That is the only reliable and functional way.

I cannot understand people that use such a disgusting product like MS
Access.

A small child turns to Ed, and exclaims: "Look! Look! A post from aggie
mom in dallas aggie mom in !"...
can I bring in my ms access report?
how??

No.

if not, what about as a mail merge?

Yes!
Publisher 2003 can do this really well - and if you have a list of image
files in your database, Publisher 2003 will even import the photos for you.

thanks for the suggestion and perhaps some day you'll have an opportunity to understand how MS Access has it's place in business - especially for us over 40 group.

I may need some help again - so hope you hang around this group.

well, gig 'em to that small child and to Ed!
We have pub 2002 - do you happen to know if it handles mail merge as well?

Last night I looked all over Frye's and couldn't find any books on publisher - any idea if they even exit? That book that was in the package is awful for somone who has never used MS pub.

and..by the way...my project is the annual Aggie Mom Yearbook and Member Directory - so tell that small child we appreciate their excitement!!

Angry Aggie Access has no place in business. It is to unreliable, has the
worst gawdam interface every invented, has a foul mind like bonsai george w
bush (what a piece of filth) and is a dog of a product.
If you want to talk about quality databases, then look to products like
FileMaker www.filemaker.com

All versions of Publisher from Publisher 97 on handle mail merging.
Publisher 2003 is a significant improvement in mail merging over previous
versions, but still hates Access as a data source.

Gee, David, You make me feel bad, I have used Access forever for the Publisher merge.
It works okay for me.. I've also used Word, Excel and at one time a hundred years ago
DBase.

Mary Access is such an awkward piece of software.
Access has more flaws and bugs than any other program on the market of its
ilk.
If you had used a quality database like Filemaker, you would see exactly
what I mean.
Access is the worst disgusting poorly designed piece of bloatware that runs
like a dog and sends queries a hundred times larger than any other program
on a network.
It is only because of MS's abusive power that Access has got anywhere.

JoAnn that is just being to kind to probably the worst product ever dumped
into the market place. VW Beetles may have been Hitler's revenge on the
world, well Access would be Bill Gates revenge on the world.
